Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which course does our team need—Regulated or Skills-Based? If your staff require validation for National Governing Bodies (e.g., Mountain Training, British Canoeing, RYA), select our FAA Level 3 Regulated Courses (8-Hour or 16-Hour). If you simply want practical, hands-on outdoor first aid skills tailored to your internal risk assessment without formal written assessments, select our Skills-Based Practical Workshops.

  • Are non-regulated workshops accepted for workplace safety? Yes. Non-regulated workshops are mapped against HSE First Aid Needs Assessment guidelines. They demonstrate clear employer due diligence and risk management, ending with an official Woodland Roots Certificate of Attendance and syllabus breakdown for your records.

  • Can we mix elements from different outdoor scenarios? Yes! Our team will consult with you prior to the course to build custom practical scenarios around your site's specific operational risks (e.g., tool safety, campfire safety, remote water hazards, or rugged terrain).

  • How many people can attend a private session? Regulated courses are strictly capped at 12 participants per instructor to ensure assessment compliance and high practical quality. For larger organisations, we deploy multiple instructors to train your full team simultaneously.

  • How do we receive our group quotation? Complete the enquiry form above with your group size, location preference, and target dates. We will return a tailored, all-inclusive proposal within 48 hours.
